National Action and Coordination Group for Ending Violence against Children, India (NACG EVAC India)

Introduction

National Action and Coordination Group for Ending Violence against Children, India (NACG EVAC India) is a country level civil society platform having its National Secretariat at People’s Cultural Centre (PECUC), Bhubaneswar, Odisha. They work under the broader framework of the South Asia Initiative to End Violence against Children (SAIEVAC), which is an Apex Body of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). The proposed trainings and capacity building of different child protection stakeholders is a component of one of the project being implemented by NACG EVAC India in partnership with World Vision Germany, World Vision India and PECUC

Asha Deep Foundation has collaborated with PECUC, SAIEVAC and World vision Germany to work against child sexual abuse in India. Regular correspondence at training among the ICDS and public health workers, Aanganwadi and ASHA workers, Child Protection committee worker and community members in Delhi NCR region has been undergoing. The main objective of these workshop and training sessions is to create awareness about Child Sexual Abuse, development of a child-friendly legal body, extensive discussion on what are abuse and its kinds such as: Physical, sexual, emotional, neglect, exploitation and violence. Furthermore, important stress is given on impact of child abuse & symptoms, mental health of the child after being abused, Trauma and mental wellbeing, Child Sexual Abuse Law including POCSO Act, PCMA, JJ Act Prohibition of Child Marriage Act 2006 (PCMA); Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 and the recent Trafficking of Persons (Prevention, Protection and Rehabilitation) Bill and important judgments related to Child sexual Abuse. These training Frontline health workers, Child Protection Committee – CPC, Teachers, Child Welfare Committee - CWC, Juvenile Justice Board - JJB, Police-Special Juvenile Police Units - SJPU, Doctors, District Child Protection Unit – DCPU).Asha Deep Foundation has a dedicated approach towards child safety from all kinds of abuses and exploitations. Recently, on 10th March 2021, there was a media conference on awareness of Child Sexual Abuse and NACG workshop as a step to work on groundroot level and reach every part of the communities. Organizing about 12 NACG meeting/workshop/training on yearly basis, creating awareness and outreaching the voice against child sexual has been the prime priority of Asha Deep Foundation.
