| The Sponsorship Scheme is one of the ways by which every individual who desires to take part in the development of poor, needy and marginalized, can be actively and creatively involved in the global process of sharing to achieve the goodness of life for all. The ADF believes in constructive help to everyone by everyone. So it has evolved many schemes of individual sponsorships. |
| The Asha Deep Foundation has five forms of sponsorship to help children and old people who are in need of special assistance. |

For Education of children in school.

| (1) For Education of Children in Schools |
There "are four categories of children who are in need of help for Education in schools;
(1) Widows' children (2) Street children (3) Physically Challenged children (4) Children of destitute parents.

Widows' children: Surveys reveal that there are about 350 widows in the communities where ADF works. Nearly 1500 children of this category need help. At the moment, the ADF school has a little more that 100 chi ldren under its wing.
Street children: The children engaged part of the time in Rag-picking are motivated by social workers to attend schools, to which good response is seen. There are about 900 children in the category who need sponsorship. At the moment, 150 are being helped in our school.
Physically challenged children: There are about 250 children in the communities, all of whom need help for education.
Children of destitute parents: Many of the poor rural mass come to Delhi for employment. They come and live in streets or in economically depressed communities. They are more or less destitutes. They look for help for their children's education. |

| The sponsorship for Education for a child per year is Rs.4,800/- (US$ 110). This includes school tuition fee, books and a sel^f school uniform. |
| (2) For Education and Development of physically challenged (Handicapped) children at Day Care Center. |
Some of the physically challenged children need more than mere schooling. Their development needs physiotherapy, emotional support, nutrition and extra curricular activities. A special Day Care Centre is organized by ADF at Shahidnagar. They spend 9 hours at the centre, during which 5 hours are spent in schools, 2 hours for refreshments, lunch and recreation and 2 hours for extra curricular activities. There are 50 children in the centre who need immediate assistance.

| (3) For total Care and Development of children at Shelter— (Residential) Homes |
These are the children who are found on the streets of Delhi, having run away from homes, traveling hundreds of miles from their villages due to poverty, child labor, ill-treatment etc. They eat and sleep on the streets and are subjected to various forms of exploitation and unhygienic forms of living. Two shelter (Residential) Homes at Shahidnagar, one for boys and the other for Girls are being run for these children. 120 children are accommodated in these Homes. They remain here from age 5 till they are well settled in society.
The sponsorship per child per year is Rs. 14,000/- (US$340) |
| (4) For Early Childhood Development of children at Home Centers. |
Early Childhood Education and Development (under age 5) is very essential for the formation of life of the children. To help the child and the parents, especially the mother, many Home Based Centers have been organized in the communities. Almost in every street of the colony, a centre is established with 10-15 children.
The sponsorship per child per year is Rs. 2,400/- (US$50) |
| (5) For Care of the Elderly People at Day care centers |
Due to lack of any state Welfare Schemes or any support
from their families, many of the elderly suffer a great deal due
to poverty and ill-health. Two Day Care centers are run for 60
elderly people. They are provided with food, clothing, health
care and other facilities to meet the minimum requirement of
life.
Sponsor ship for a person for ay ear is Rs. 7,200/-(US$170). |

| Any number of children or elderly can be sponsored by an individual or organization. When a child or elderly is sponsored, all particulars of the person with photograph will be furnished. Annual report of the progress of the individual will be sent. If correspondence with the child or elderly is desired, it will be gladly encouraged. |
